Dodd to chair transportation group
Tuesday, June 22, 2004
County Supervisor Bill Dodd will chair the Napa County Transportation Planning
Agency for the next year.
Elected by his fellow board members last week, Dodd replaces St. Helena Councilman
Joe Potter who led the agency for the past two years.
As an agency member, Dodd has pushed for a half-cent sales tax increase for
the November ballot to pay for highway, road and transit projects.
Dodd also represents Napa County and its five cities on the Bay Area's Metropolitan
Transportation Commission.
With his roles on the NCTPA and MTC, Dodd said he hopes to be a liaison for
getting money for the county's transportation needs, including the widening
of Jamieson Canyon Road.
Yountville Councilman Eric Knight was selected as vice chair.
